So, what is kirschwasser?
Kirschwasser, also known as cherry eau-de-vie, is a clear fruit brandy made from sour cherries grown in the Black Forest region of Germany. The name "kirschwasser" translates to "cherry water" in German. The cherries are fermented and distilled, producing a potent liquor with a distinct cherry flavor and aroma. Kirschwasser is often used as a cooking ingredient, adding a fruity and complex flavor to desserts like cherry clafoutis or black forest cake. It can also be enjoyed as a digestif or used as a base for cocktails like the classic Singapore Sling.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
