So, what is kollagen?
Kollagen is a protein found throughout the body, including in the skin, bones, and connective tissues. As a food ingredient, kollagen is derived from animal sources such as bovine hide or fish skin, and is commonly used in supplements and functional foods to promote joint health and improve skin elasticity. Kollagen is rich in amino acids such as glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline, which are essential building blocks for healthy connective tissues. It has also been studied for its potential benefits in supporting bone health and wound healing.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
