So, what is kummin?
Kummin, also known as cumin, is a flowering plant in the parsley family that produces aromatic seeds used as a spice. Originally from Egypt, it is now widely cultivated in countries such as India and Iran. The seeds have a warm, earthy flavor with a hint of bitterness and are commonly used in Indian, Mexican, and Middle Eastern cuisine. Kummin is also believed to have medicinal properties, including aiding digestion and promoting weight loss. It can be used whole or ground, and pairs well with other spices such as coriander and turmeric.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
