So, what is lactosa?
Lactose, also known as milk sugar, is a disaccharide sugar that is naturally found in milk and dairy products. It is composed of glucose and galactose molecules linked together by a beta-glycosidic bond. While lactose provides a natural source of energy, some people may have difficulty digesting it due to a deficiency in the enzyme lactase. In food production, lactose is commonly used as a sweetener, bulking agent, and ingredient in baked goods and processed foods. It is also used in pharmaceuticals as a filler and binder for medications.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
