So, what is lactulose?
Lactulose is a synthetic, non-digestible sugar that is commonly used as a laxative to treat constipation. It is produced from lactose, a natural sugar found in milk, through a process called isomerization. Lactulose works by drawing water into the bowel, softening stools and making them easier to pass. It is also known to stimulate the growth of beneficial bacteria in the colon, making it useful in the treatment of certain digestive disorders. Lactulose is a safe and effective treatment for constipation and is available in various forms including liquid and powder.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
