So, what is liebstöckel?
Liebstöckel, also known as lovage, is a herb that is popular in European cuisine for its distinctively strong, savory flavor. Its dark green leaves resemble those of celery, but its taste is more pungent and complex, with notes of anise and parsley. Liebstöckel is often used as a seasoning for soups, stews, and meat dishes, and its leaves and stems can be chopped and added to salads or used to infuse vinegar or oil. In addition to its culinary uses, liebstöckel has been used for medicinal purposes for centuries and is said to have diuretic, antiseptic, and digestive properties.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
