So, what is magnesiumstearat?
Magnesium stearate is a white, odorless, and powdery substance that is commonly used in the food industry as an anti-caking agent, lubricant, and emulsifier. It is derived from stearic acid, a natural fatty acid found in many animal and vegetable fats. Magnesium stearate is known for its ability to improve the flowability of powders, preventing them from clumping together or sticking to machinery during processing. It is also used in dietary supplements and pharmaceuticals as a safe and effective excipient, helping to ensure the uniformity and stability of the product. Magnesium stearate is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is widely used in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
