So, what is maltodextrin%?
Maltodextrin is a carbohydrate made from corn, rice, or potato starch. It's commonly used as a thickener or filler in processed foods, such as snacks, sauces, and drinks. Maltodextrin has a neutral taste and dissolves easily in water, which makes it a popular ingredient in sports drinks and energy gels. However, it's also known to have a high glycemic index, which means it can spike blood sugar levels quickly. While maltodextrin is generally considered safe, individuals with diabetes or other health conditions should consume it in moderation.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
