So, what is maltosa?
Maltose, also known as malt sugar, is a disaccharide made up of two glucose molecules linked together. It is commonly found in germinating grains such as barley and is formed during the process of hydrolysis of starch. Maltose is a white crystalline powder with a slightly sweet taste and is often used in the food industry as a sweetener or as a fermentation substrate for the production of beer and other alcoholic beverages. It is also used in the pharmaceutical industry as a binding agent for tablets and capsules. Maltose is easily digestible and provides a quick source of energy to the body.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
