So, what is maščobe?
Maščobe, which is the Slovenian word for "fats", is a crucial ingredient in many dishes around the world. Fats are essential for the body as they provide energy and help absorb vitamins. Maščobe can come from various sources, such as animal products like butter, lard, and tallow, as well as plant-based sources like coconut oil, olive oil, and avocado oil. Each type of fat has unique characteristics that affect the taste and texture of the food. In cooking, maščobe are used for frying, sautéing, and baking, adding richness and depth to the dishes.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
