So, what is melkserum?
Melkserum, also known as whey in English, is a byproduct of cheese production. It is a pale, watery liquid that is separated from the curd during the cheesemaking process. Melkserum is a rich source of protein, containing all nine essential amino acids, and is low in fat and lactose. It has been used in food production for centuries, and is commonly found in protein supplements, infant formula, and baked goods. In addition to its nutritional value, melkserum is also a natural emulsifier and can help improve texture and moisture retention in foods.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
