So, what is milchsäure?
Milchsäure, also known as lactic acid in English, is a natural organic acid found in many dairy products such as yogurt, sour cream, and kefir. It is also produced by the human body during exercise. In food production, milchsäure is commonly used as a natural preservative and flavor enhancer. It can also be used as an acidity regulator, pH adjuster, and a fermentation starter. Milchsäure has a tangy taste and is commonly used in the production of pickled vegetables and sauerkraut. Due to its antibacterial properties, it is often used in personal care products such as soaps and shampoos.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
