So, what is modified milk ingredient?
Modified milk ingredient is a processed food ingredient derived from milk. It undergoes various modifications, such as ultrafiltration, evaporation, spray drying, or enzymatic treatment, to enhance its functional properties or alter its composition. The resulting product may contain higher or lower levels of proteins, lactose, minerals, or fat than regular milk. Modified milk ingredient is widely used in the food industry as an emulsifier, stabilizer, thickener, or nutritional supplement in a variety of products, including baked goods, dairy products, sauces, and beverages. However, it may cause allergic reactions in individuals with milk allergies.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
