So, what is monoacetin?
Monoacetin is a food-grade emulsifier derived from glycerol and acetic acid. It is a colorless and odorless liquid that is soluble in water and has a sweet taste. Monoacetin is commonly used in the food industry as a food additive to stabilize emulsions, prevent oil separation, and improve texture. It is also used in the production of candies, bakery products, and processed meats. Monoacetin is considered safe for consumption by regulatory bodies and has no known adverse health effects when used in moderate amounts.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
