So, what is mostassa?
Mostassa, also known as "mostarda" in some regions of Italy, is a traditional condiment made from fruit preserved in a syrup of mustard and sugar. The result is a tangy and sweet sauce that pairs well with charcuterie, cheeses, and roasted meats. While the original recipe dates back to the 15th century in Northern Italy, modern versions can be found across Europe and Latin America, using a variety of fruits such as apples, pears, figs, and cherries. Mostarda adds a zesty twist to any dish or appetizer, making it a versatile and delicious ingredient for any food lover to explore.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
