So, what is natriumacetate?

Natriumacetate, also known as sodium acetate, is a white crystalline salt that is commonly used as a food additive and flavoring agent. It has a slightly salty and vinegar-like taste and is often added to snack foods like chips, popcorn, and pretzels to enhance their flavor. Natriumacetate is also used as a buffering agent to regulate the acidity of processed foods and can be found in products like pickles, sauces, and salad dressings. In addition to its culinary uses, natriumacetate is used in the textile industry as a dyeing and printing agent and in medicine as a source of sodium ions for intravenous solutions.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like natriumacetate?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
