So, what is natriumdisulfit?
Natriumdisulfit, also known as sodium metabisulfite, is a food additive commonly used as a preservative and antioxidant. It is a white, crystalline powder that dissolves easily in water and has a slightly sulfurous odor. As a preservative, natriumdisulfit inhibits the growth of bacteria and fungi, extending the shelf life of food products. It is also used to maintain the color and flavor of foods, such as dried fruits and wine. However, some people may be sensitive to natriumdisulfit and experience allergic reactions, such as respiratory problems, skin rashes, and digestive issues.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
