So, what is neotame?
Neotame is an artificial sweetener and a relative of aspartame, but unlike its cousin, it can be used in cooking and baking without breaking down. It is about 8,000 times sweeter than sugar, making it a highly concentrated sweetener. Neotame is a white powder that is soluble in water and has a clean, sweet taste without any bitterness or aftertaste. It is often used in low-calorie and sugar-free foods and beverages, including diet soft drinks, chewing gum, and baked goods. Neotame is also heat-stable, making it ideal for use in processed and packaged foods that require high-temperature processing.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
