So, what is nicotinamide?
Nicotinamide, also known as niacinamide, is a water-soluble form of vitamin B3. It is a white crystalline powder that is odorless and has a slightly bitter taste. Nicotinamide is an essential nutrient that plays a crucial role in various metabolic processes in the body, including energy production, DNA repair, and cellular signaling. It is commonly used in the food and supplement industry as a nutritional supplement, as well as in skincare products due to its ability to improve skin barrier function, reduce hyperpigmentation, and provide anti-inflammatory benefits. Nicotinamide is considered safe and well-tolerated at recommended doses.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
