So, what is orthophénylphénol?
Orthophénylphénol, also known as 2-phenylphenol or OPP, is a chemical compound that is commonly used as a fungicide, germicide, and disinfectant in various industries. It is a white crystalline powder that is soluble in organic solvents and is typically used as a surface disinfectant in the food processing and agricultural industries. Orthophénylphénol is also used in the production of plastic materials, including food packaging, and as an antimicrobial agent in personal care products such as deodorants and soaps. However, its use has been controversial due to potential health risks associated with exposure, such as skin irritation and respiratory issues.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
