So, what is ostra?
Ostra is a delicacy that comes from the ocean. Also known as "oyster" in English, ostra has a unique flavor and texture that make it a prized ingredient in many dishes. This mollusk has a hard, irregularly shaped shell that is opened to reveal a tender, succulent meat inside. Ostras are often enjoyed raw on the half shell with a splash of lemon juice or vinegar, but they can also be cooked in a variety of ways. Whether grilled, fried, or baked, ostras add an unmistakable briny flavor to any dish.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
