So, what is parmigiano-reggiano?
Parmigiano-Reggiano, also known as the "King of Cheese," is a hard, granular cheese with a nutty and fruity flavor. Made from unpasteurized cow's milk in the regions of Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, and parts of Bologna and Mantua, it is aged for a minimum of 12 months, resulting in a complex and rich taste. The cheese has a distinctively gritty texture and can be grated or shaved over pasta, risotto, salads, and other dishes. Parmigiano-Reggiano is rich in protein, calcium, and vitamins, making it a nutritious addition to any meal.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
