So, what is pecorino?
Pecorino is a type of hard, salty cheese made from sheep's milk. Originating in Italy, this cheese has a crumbly texture and a slightly nutty flavor. Pecorino comes in a variety of types, each with its own unique taste and texture, depending on the age of the cheese and the region it was produced in. Some popular varieties include Pecorino Romano, which is aged for at least eight months and has a sharp, tangy flavor, and Pecorino Toscano, which has a milder, buttery taste. Pecorino is a versatile ingredient that can be grated over pasta, used in salads or enjoyed on its own with a glass of wine.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
