So, what is pectina?
Pectin is a soluble fiber found in the cell walls of many fruits and vegetables, including apples, citrus fruits, and carrots. It is commonly used as a gelling agent in the food industry, particularly in the production of jams, jellies, and other fruit spreads. Pectin can also be used as a thickener in sauces and soups, and as a stabilizer in dairy products. It has gained popularity as a dietary supplement due to its potential health benefits, such as lowering cholesterol levels and aiding digestion. Pectin is also vegan-friendly and gluten-free, making it a versatile ingredient for a wide range of dietary needs.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
