So, what is pectine?
Pectin is a natural, plant-based thickener commonly used in food production. It is a type of soluble fiber found in the cell walls of many fruits and vegetables, such as apples, citrus fruits, and carrots. Pectin is often used in the production of jams, jellies, and other fruit preserves to help them gel and achieve the desired texture. It is also commonly used as a stabilizer and thickener in dairy products, such as yogurt and cream cheese, and as a fat replacer in baked goods. Pectin is considered a healthy ingredient because it can help regulate digestion and lower cholesterol levels.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
