So, what is pimenton?
Pimentón is a richly-flavored spice made from smoked and ground red peppers. Its origins lie in Spain, where it has been a staple ingredient for centuries, but it is now widely used in cuisines all over the world. Pimentón comes in three varieties: dulce (sweet), agridulce (bittersweet), and picante (hot). Its unique flavor and aroma make it a popular addition to meat rubs, stews, soups, and sauces, and it can also be used to add a smoky depth to vegetarian dishes. Pimentón is a versatile and delicious ingredient that adds complexity to any dish it's used in.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
