So, what is polyglycitol?
Polyglycitol is a low-calorie sweetener derived from natural carbohydrates. It has a mild sweetness similar to sugar, but is only about half as caloric. Polyglycitol is often used in sugar-free and reduced-calorie foods, such as candies, gum, and baked goods, to provide sweetness without adding extra calories. Additionally, it has the added benefit of being non-cariogenic, meaning that it does not promote tooth decay. With its unique properties and versatility in food applications, polyglycitol is becoming increasingly popular as a sugar substitute in the food industry.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
