So, what is porro?
Porro, also known as leek, is a versatile vegetable with a mild, sweet flavor that adds depth to many dishes. Part of the allium family, along with onions and garlic, porro has long, green leaves and a white bulb that can be used in a variety of culinary applications. It is commonly used in soups, stews, and casseroles, but can also be grilled, roasted, or sautéed. Porro is an excellent source of vitamins A and K, and a good source of vitamin C, fiber, and folate. Its unique flavor and nutritional benefits make it a popular choice for both home cooks and professional chefs.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
