So, what is powdered sugar?

Powdered sugar, also known as confectioner's sugar or icing sugar, is a fine, white, powdery substance that is commonly used in baking and desserts. Made by grinding granulated sugar into a fine powder and adding a small amount of cornstarch to prevent clumping, powdered sugar is used to add sweetness and a light, fluffy texture to a variety of desserts, including cakes, cookies, and pastries. It can also be used as a decorative touch, sprinkled on top of baked goods or used to make frosting and glazes. Due to its fine texture, powdered sugar dissolves quickly and easily, making it a convenient ingredient for any baker.

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
