So, what is pvp?
Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) is a water-soluble polymer that has a wide range of applications in the food industry. It is commonly used as a food additive to improve the texture and appearance of products, such as baked goods, dairy products, and beverages. PVP is also used as a clarifying agent, helping to remove unwanted impurities and cloudiness from liquids. Due to its high binding capacity, PVP is also utilized as a stabilizer, thickener, and emulsifier in food formulations. Additionally, PVP is considered safe for human consumption and is regulated by the FDA.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
