So, what is quark?
Quark is a soft and creamy fresh cheese that originated in Germany. It is similar in texture to Greek yogurt, but has a milder flavor with a subtle tanginess. Made from pasteurized cow's milk, quark is a high-protein, low-fat ingredient that can be used in both sweet and savory dishes. It is often used as a healthier alternative to cream cheese or sour cream in recipes like dips, spreads, and cheesecakes. Quark is also a popular ingredient in traditional German cuisine, where it is used to make quark dumplings, quark pancakes, and quark strudel.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
