So, what is quillaia?
Quillaia is a natural extract derived from the bark of the Chilean soapbark tree, Quillaja saponaria. It is known for its high levels of saponins, which are natural compounds that create a foamy texture when mixed with water. Quillaia is commonly used as a food ingredient in the production of beverages, such as root beer and cream soda, as well as in the manufacturing of cheese, sauces, and dressings. It is also used as a natural emulsifier and stabilizer in a variety of food products. Quillaia extract is prized for its mild, earthy flavor and its ability to enhance the texture and appearance of food and beverages.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
