So, what is räkor?

Räkor is a Swedish term that refers to one of the most iconic seafood ingredients in Scandinavian cuisine: shrimp. These small, pink crustaceans have a delicate and sweet flavor that pairs well with classic Nordic ingredients like dill and mayonnaise. Räkor can be enjoyed in many forms, from simple boiled shrimp served with aioli to more elaborate dishes like shrimp salad or cold-smoked shrimp on rye bread. With their distinctive color and taste, räkor add a touch of elegance and refinement to any dish they are used in, making them a beloved ingredient in many Swedish homes and restaurants.
