So, what is ricotta?
Ricotta is a soft, creamy Italian cheese made from whey. It has a delicate, slightly sweet flavor with a grainy texture that makes it a versatile ingredient in both savory and sweet dishes. Its low fat content makes it a healthier alternative to other cheeses, while still providing an excellent source of calcium and protein. Ricotta works well in pasta dishes like lasagna or stuffed shells, as well as desserts such as cheesecake or cannoli. Its mild flavor also makes it easy to incorporate into dips, spreads and dressings.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
