So, what is sea squirt?
Sea squirt is a unique marine invertebrate that belongs to the tunicate family. Also known as ascidian, it has an elongated, tube-like body with two siphons that allow it to filter water for food and respiration. Sea squirts come in various colors, ranging from bright orange to green or blue, and have a slightly sweet flavor. They are often used in traditional Asian cuisine, where they are either eaten raw or cooked in soups and stews. Rich in protein, minerals, and antioxidants, sea squirts are a nutritious ingredient that can add both flavor and color to your dishes.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
