So, what is semillon?

Sémillon is a versatile white grape variety used in winemaking and often blended with Sauvignon Blanc to produce popular sweet and dry wines. This French grape is commonly grown in the Bordeaux region, where it creates rich, full-bodied wines with complex flavors of honey, apricot, and vanilla. Sémillon's high sugar content also makes it a popular choice for the production of sweet dessert wines, such as Sauternes. This grape variety is also grown in other parts of the world, including Australia, South Africa, and California, where it is used to produce a wide range of styles, from crisp and citrusy to rich and buttery.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like semillon?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
