So, what is semule?
Semule is a finely ground durum wheat flour commonly used in traditional Italian and North African cuisine. With its pale yellow color and gritty texture, it's an essential ingredient in making pasta, couscous, and bread. Semule's coarse texture gives finished dishes a satisfying chewiness and a distinctive nutty flavor. Rich in gluten, it's an ideal ingredient for making doughs that require elasticity, such as pizza crusts and focaccia bread. Semule is a versatile ingredient that adds texture and flavor to a variety of dishes, making it a staple in any well-stocked pantry.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
