So, what is sjalot?
Sjalot, also known as French shallot, is a small onion that has a more delicate and sweet flavor than regular onions. It has a slightly elongated shape with a coppery, papery skin and a white flesh with a hint of purple. Sjalot is often used in French cuisine to enhance the flavor of sauces, dressings, and stews. It can be sautéed until caramelized, roasted until tender, or pickled for a tangy twist. Sjalot's unique flavor profile makes it a versatile ingredient that can add depth and complexity to any dish.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
