So, what is skyrgerlar?

Skyrgerlar is a unique and traditional Icelandic food ingredient that is not commonly found outside of Iceland. It is a type of dried skyr, which is a thick and creamy yogurt-like dairy product that has been a staple of Icelandic cuisine for centuries. Skyrgerlar are made by straining skyr until most of the moisture has been removed, then shaping the resulting solids into small balls or cylinders that are then dried in the open air. The resulting skyrgerlar are high in protein and low in fat, making them a healthy and satisfying snack. They have a slightly tangy and savory flavor, with a dense and chewy texture that is similar to cheese. Skyrgerlar are a great addition to salads, soups, and stews, and are also delicious when eaten on their own as a snack.
