So, what is stéarate dé sodium?
Sodium stearate is a white, odorless, and tasteless powder that is commonly used as a food ingredient and as an emulsifying agent in the production of various food products. It is a salt that is formed when stearic acid, a fatty acid found in many animal and vegetable fats, reacts with sodium hydroxide. Sodium stearate is a safe and widely accepted food additive that helps to stabilize and thicken food products, such as soups, sauces, and salad dressings. It also acts as a lubricant, preventing ingredients from clumping together and improving their flowability. Sodium stearate is commonly used in food processing due to its low cost, ease of use, and compatibility with a wide range of other ingredients.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
