So, what is sucre de?
Sucre de, or "sugar of," is a type of sugar that is commonly used in French cuisine and baking. This fine granulated sugar is made by grinding pure, refined white sugar into a finer consistency, giving it a delicate texture and subtle sweetness. Sucre de is often used in recipes where a finer texture is desired, such as meringues, macarons, and delicate pastries. This ingredient dissolves quickly and evenly, making it ideal for creating smooth and silky textures in desserts and confections. Sucre de can also be used to sweeten beverages or as a finishing touch on top of baked goods.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
