So, what is sukrosa?
Sukrosa, also known as table sugar or sucrose, is a crystalline compound found in many plants, including sugarcane and sugar beets. It is a natural sweetener that is commonly used to add flavor to baked goods, desserts, and beverages. Sukrosa is made up of glucose and fructose and has a high glycemic index, which means it can raise blood sugar levels quickly. This ingredient is often used in the food industry due to its affordability, stability, and ease of use. While it may provide sweetness and enhance the taste of food, excessive consumption of sukrosa may lead to health problems, including obesity and diabetes.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
