So, what is swordfish?

Swordfish is a large, predatory fish found in tropical and temperate oceans worldwide. Its firm, meaty flesh is prized for its rich, full flavor that is often compared to steak or beef. The texture is dense, yet tender with a slightly sweet taste that pairs well with bold seasonings like chili flakes or black pepper. Swordfish is also incredibly versatile, lending itself to grilling, broiling, baking, poaching, or even raw preparations like ceviche. However, due to overfishing concerns, it's important to choose sustainably sourced swordfish when possible.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like swordfish?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
