So, what is tafelessig?
Tafelessig, also known as table vinegar, is a versatile condiment commonly used in German cuisine. It is made by fermenting ethanol with acetic acid bacteria, resulting in a sour and tangy flavor that adds a pleasant acidity to dishes. Tafelessig is often used in salad dressings, marinades, pickling, and as a condiment for fish and chips. It has a pale color and a relatively low acidity, making it milder than other vinegars. Tafelessig is a pantry staple in German households and an essential ingredient for any cook who wants to add a touch of acidity to their dishes.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
