So, what is tartufo?
Tartufo, also known as black truffle, is a highly prized ingredient in culinary circles for its distinctive aroma and earthy flavor. This rare and expensive fungus is found underground, typically in regions such as Italy, France, and Spain, where it grows in the roots of oak, hazelnut, and other trees. Tartufo has a strong and pungent scent that is often compared to a mix of musk, wet earth, and garlic. It is typically shaved or grated thinly over pasta dishes, risottos, meats, and other savory dishes to add a unique and intense depth of flavor.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
