So, what is tejföl?
Tejföl is a Hungarian dairy product made from sour cream with a tangy, slightly acidic taste and a creamy texture. It has a rich flavor that complements many traditional Hungarian dishes, such as goulash and paprikash, and adds a tangy note to desserts like palacsinta (Hungarian crepes). Tejföl is also used as a condiment or topping for various types of street food in Hungary, including lángos and Kürtőskalács (a cylindrical pastry). It can be substituted for sour cream in recipes or enjoyed on its own as a dip or spread.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
