So, what is tvaroh?
Tvaroh is a fresh, curd cheese with a slightly grainy texture that's widely used in Central and Eastern European cuisine. It's made by heating cow's milk until it coagulates, then straining the solid curds from the liquid whey. Tvaroh has a tangy, slightly sour flavor that makes it a versatile ingredient in both sweet and savory dishes. In some regions, it's also known as "quark" or "cottage cheese." Tvaroh is low in fat and high in protein, making it a healthy addition to meals. It's commonly used in dishes such as pierogies, blintzes, and cheesecake.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
