So, what is vaniljextrakt?
Vaniljextrakt, also known as vanilla extract, is a concentrated flavoring derived from the pods of the vanilla orchid. This versatile ingredient is used to impart a rich and complex flavor profile to a wide variety of dishes, from sweet baked goods like cakes and cookies to savory sauces and marinades. The process of making vaniljextrakt involves soaking chopped vanilla beans in a mixture of alcohol and water, which extracts the flavor compounds from the beans. The resulting extract has a distinctively sweet and floral aroma, with notes of caramel and spice that can enhance the taste of almost any recipe.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
