So, what is vino de marsala?
Vino de Marsala is a fortified wine that originates from the town of Marsala in Sicily, Italy. This amber-colored wine is made from a blend of indigenous grape varieties, including Grillo, Catarratto, and Inzolia, which are then fortified with brandy to produce a rich and complex flavor profile. The wine is aged for a minimum of one year in oak barrels, during which time it develops a nutty, caramelized aroma with hints of dried fruit and spice. Vino de Marsala is a versatile ingredient that is commonly used in cooking, particularly in savory dishes such as chicken marsala or veal marsala, as well as in sweet desserts like tiramisu or zabaglione.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
