So, what is witte kool?
Witte kool, also known as white cabbage, is a cruciferous vegetable with a pale green to white color and tightly packed, crunchy leaves. This versatile ingredient is a staple in many cuisines and is known for its slightly sweet and earthy flavor. It's commonly used raw in salads, slaws, and fermented dishes like sauerkraut, but can also be cooked by boiling, steaming, or roasting. Not only is witte kool low in calories and high in fiber, it's also a good source of vitamin C, vitamin K, and antioxidants. Whether eaten raw or cooked, witte kool is a nutritious and delicious addition to any meal.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
